Corrections Policy

Accuracy matters to us. If we learn that an article contains a factual error, misleading wording, outdated rule, or broken official reference, we review the issue and make a correction as quickly as reasonably possible.

Readers can request a correction through our Contact page with the page URL, the specific statement in question, and, if possible, a supporting official source or document. Clear, verifiable reports help us review faster.

When a correction changes the substance of a page, we revise the content. A displayed update date may be changed after a material review. Minor fixes such as grammar, formatting, or link repairs may be made without a separate note if they do not change meaning.

Updates and Review Policy

Canadian immigration, tax, housing, banking, and policy information can change frequently. We periodically review important evergreen pages and update them when official rules, thresholds, forms, deadlines, or program details change.

Where a page shows a publication or update date, it provides publication or maintenance context. It may not reflect every wording change and is not a guarantee that the information is still current, so verify anything important against the official source before you act on it.

Not every update means a full rewrite. Some revisions clarify wording, add official sources, refresh examples, or reflect small administrative changes. Material updates should be reflected in the page date display.

Our Multilingual Publishing Process

Every guide on Live in Canada is written in English first and published in 17 languages: English plus 16 translations (French, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Punjabi, Spanish, Portuguese, Persian, Arabic, Tagalog, German, Ukrainian, Russian, and Vietnamese). This section explains how those translations are produced and what their limits are.

Translations are produced with AI translation systems and then pass through an automated accuracy review by a second, different AI model. That review checks for mistranslations, missing content, untranslated English fragments, and script or accent errors. Pages that fail these checks are corrected before publication.

Automated review is the standard path. Human review is applied selectively, for example when spot-checking high-traffic or high-stakes pages and when readers report an issue through our Contact page. We disclose this openly: translation quality is strong, but it is not guaranteed to be perfect on every page.

English is the authoritative version of every guide. If a translated version differs from the English original, the English version takes precedence. Non-English pages carry a translation notice to this effect. Where we know a translation is materially out of date, we prioritize bringing it back in line with the English version.

Conflicts of Interest and Revenue Disclosure

Live in Canada is an independent blog supported by advertising and affiliate partnerships.

Our current revenue model includes Google AdSense advertising and affiliate or referral relationships. These arrangements help support research, writing, translation, hosting, and tool development.

As of this policy update, affiliate or referral relationships may include Wealthsimple, Chexy, and Great Canadian Rebates. If we add or remove material partners, we will update our disclosures as appropriate.

Our policy is that compensation should not determine what we publish, how we evaluate a product, or whether we mention a service. We aim to disclose relevant referral relationships clearly and to recommend services we believe may be useful to readers.
